Celebrating 20 years FORE a Great Cause
Back in 1999, Helen Sciancalepore wanted to start a fundraiser to commemorate her husband, Joseph Sciancalepore, who had recently passed away. To keep his caring spirit alive, she had three goals: she wanted to support an organization that he was passionate about, she hoped it would be a family-friendly event (family was very important to Joe), and she wanted to involve her kids and grandkids.
She met with Charles R. Wood and the great people at the Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch (now called the Double H Ranch), a wonderful place that provides specialized programs for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. And a new community event was born: The Hole In One for Hole In the Woods.
20 years and countless donuts, hamburgers and golf balls later, this humble, homemade fundraiser has raised over $250,000. Thank you to the many people and businesses who have supported this event. Together, inspired by Joe and Helen, we’ve brought a little sunshine into many children’s lives.
