The Double H Ranch is currently accepting nominations for the 2021 Volunteer of the Year and Emerging Leader of the Year awards. Each year, the Double H Ranch selects an individual, organization, or group that exemplifies the art of giving back in its purest form, volunteerism. These prestigious awards have been established in honor of Ron and Kathy Phelps for their exceptional dedication to the Double H Ranch and most importantly “The Kids.”
Criteria for Nomination(s):
- Nominee(s) must have volunteered within the past 12 months for a Double H Ranch program
- Emerging Leader of the Year: Age 30 and under
- Nominee(s) meet the outlined 5 core values:
Core Value #1: Be a Kid
Double H Ranch operates with the intent of putting our campers and families first. We are proudly honest and transparent with every decision made. We can confidently assure that every step taken is to most effectively serve children with serious illness and their families so that they can Be a Kid.

Safety is a major factor in childhood; it’s no different at camp. Our staff and volunteers are trained with the tools required to provide the utmost quality of care for our campers and families. We provide the highest standards of excellence and quality assurance in all areas, so that the intricacies of medical illness do not diminish the excitement and wonder of having limitless fun.

Every set of hands make the work lighter and the applause louder. We place a high value on volunteerism and community partnerships. Our pursuit of the greatest, safest camper experience will always include recruitment and retention of caring and qualified volunteers.

Double H Ranch is in the business of giving kids and their families’ unforgettable experiences. We strive to offer something similar with our donors, from camper sponsorships to planned giving, the legacy of each gift and the person or company who shares it, lives on in spoken, printed, and beloved recognition. The art of giving back is an essential key to our success.

The recipients of this annual recognition award will receive a plaque at a designated event and an identical plaque will be proudly displayed at the Double H Ranch to honor the gift of volunteerism and our extraordinary volunteers.
