We are excited to announce our 2024 Volunteers of the Year. Established in 2012, the awards are given in honor of Kathy and Ron Phelps for their exceptional dedication to the Double H Ranch. We proudly honored this year’s recipients at the annual Holiday Party.
Aimee McMaster
Aimee McMaster has been a dedicated volunteer for 18 years, consistently going above and beyond in her roles at Double H Ranch. Over the years, she has volunteered as a cabin nurse during our summer program, a ski instructor, and a medical volunteer during family weekends. Aimee has also generously contributed her time by performing physical exams and providing medical care for seasonal staff during Day 0 sick calls, demonstrating her deep commitment to the well-being of both campers and staff.
Her expertise and dedication have made her an invaluable member of the medical volunteer team. Aimee not only provides exceptional care but also serves as a mentor for new volunteer nurses, offering guidance and support as they integrate into the program.
Beyond her nursing role, Aimee spends countless weekends on the ski hill as a volunteer ski instructor, sharing her passion for skiing with the families we serve. She is also an active member of our Medical Advisory Committee, where she plays a key role in helping to create a medically safe and fun experience for our families.
Aimee’s unwavering commitment, compassionate care, and dedication to the mission of Double H Ranch make her truly deserving of the Volunteer of the Year award.
Jordan McMaster
Jordan McMaster was unstoppable in 2024 – witnessing almost every magical moment that camp had to offer us this past year. In 2024, Jordan volunteered during our winter, summer and fall programs –signing up for multiple sessions right away, often adding more throughout the season! When numbers were looking at little low – it’s like Jordan had some form of telepathy with the volunteer office and I would soon get an email that she was ready to volunteer if we needed her that upcoming session.
At the start of 2024, Jordan volunteered during all 3 of our winter Family Sleepover Weekends, not only as a Family Pal, but also doubling as a ski instructor each weekend. During summer, Jordan volunteered as a Cabin Counselor during 5 out of 8 sessions…supporting numerous other volunteers and counselors with her years of experience and ease of making camp magic happen. During the fall, Jordan continued her volunteering streak by supporting families as a Family Pal during 5 out of 6 of our fall program weekends.
All in all, Jordan volunteered A LOT this last year (over 600 hours to be exact)! She’s even here today as a volunteer and has already signed-up for all 2025 winter family weekends!
Jordan’s support of Double H’s mission and core values are evident in her endless support of our campers and their families during all seasons. We are infinitely gratefully for all of Jordan’s support as a volunteer and we are so honored to present this well-deserved award to her today!
