As November begins the season of giving, here at the Double H, we are thankful year-round for the support and dedication our community of volunteers and supporters provide us. The Double H Helping Hands work days are a true testament to what our Mission means to so many. These days are designed to promote team work while making a difference in the life of a child. It doesn’t matter what the project assigned might be, our volunteers are eager and willing to complete the job with a smile on their face.
Each Spring and Fall we host 2 Helping Hands community work days for a total of 4 weekend opportunities. In addition, we also offer mid-week corporate work days and summer change-over days for individuals, schools, businesses and civic organizations to support the Double H by completing a variety of Housekeeping and Facility projects. These volunteers quickly become a part of the Double H family after just a few hours of work on the grounds. Many arrive at the Double H for the first time expecting to clean floors, make beds, rake leaves or paint railings but leave with a sense of the magic that the Double H provides for our campers and their families. Over the years we have come to recognize many familiar faces as volunteers will return season after season ready for another day of service. We are truly grateful for the many new and returning volunteers who participate in our Helping Hands work days to benefit our campers.
We want to take a moment to thank all 1,150 volunteers who supported us in 2010. We truly appreciate your Helping Hands!
