Double H Ranch is pleased to announce that it has received a $5,000 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation, the charitable giving arm of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank® to support the Outdoor Extreme and Recycling Program for our Summer Residential Camp. The Outdoor Extreme program at Double H Ranch allows campers to explore, appreciate, and enjoy the surrounding environment and its elements. Through nature art, hiking and other activities, campers are exposed to the vast diversity and beauty of the Adirondack Park. Staff implement the reuse of material around camp to create birdhouses, tree identification signage, and paper.
Double H Ranch strives to promote positive growth in all aspects of our year-round programs. The organization has identified an area of great opportunity in reducing environmental impact and developing a sustainability plan for long-term growth as a high priority. Being located in the pristine Adirondack Park of New York, Double H has a responsibility to our community to preserve our environment. Our location and landscape offers a great advantage to our participants, as we are able to design programs that not only promote the health and happiness of the child, but also instills the importance of being a part of a community that recognizes the significance of our footprint on camp.
Funding from the TD Bank Charitable Foundation will help us continue to build our outdoor education programs to teach children the landscape of the Adirondack Park and create unique opportunities for preservation, including recycling and repurposing.
