Over the last decade, Nursing Director Emo Castle coined the phrase, “we will remember so they can forget.” As she begins her next adventure as the Nurse Manager of Albany Medical Center’s new Pediatric Emergency Department, we want to express our sincere gratitude for her leadership, those “magic’’ nursing hands and the ability to never forget the needs of a child and the importance of the Double H Ranch.
Emo’s dedication to our mission, combined with her passion for pediatric medicine and the power of camp has inspired a generation to be a little kinder and say “YES” whenever possible. While it is not goodbye but see you soon, we couldn’t be more proud of Emo. Today, we encourage you all to say “Yes! Yes! Yes!” with your arms pumped in the air in honor of the difference she has made in the lives of so many children and the Double H Ranch community.
Live the life you’ve imagined.” – Henry David Thoreau

Congratulations Emo! Well deserved, love from all of us….
Congrats Emo !
A well-deserved position. Emo is the best, and she lives others-centered authentically everywhere she goes. When I was taking my mom, who had a fractured humerus grocery shopping, Emo spotted her struggling to open the frozen foods door and helped her get something while I was grabbing something else. Thank you for all the unseen things that you’ve done, Emo. -Former counselor
Congratulations Emo!!
Congratulations! We still can’t think of camp without Emo. She is one of the pillars on which the Double H Ranch stands. We assume this move will be after we come for sessions one, right? The Horstmanns
