Double H Ranch proudly celebrated the completion of its transformative $5.5 million capital campaign with the grand opening of the RayMax Camp-A-Theater, a dynamic outdoor gathering space dedicated to inclusive play, learning, and connection.
Named in honor of the late Dr. Ray Walsh, Double H Ranch’s founding volunteer physician, and Max Yurenda, founding CEO, the RayMax Camp-A-Theater stands as a vibrant tribute to the vision and passion of two remarkable leaders.
Located at the heart of camp, this new open-air venue will serve as a central hub for camper assemblies, talent shows, dances, special presentations, and staff trainings. Designed to foster community and create meaningful experiences, the theater also reflects Double H Ranch’s unwavering commitment to providing safe, engaging, and inclusive outdoor environments where children can thrive.

The capital campaign was spearheaded by Lisa and Robert Moser, along with Campaign Co-Chair Neil Golub. This marks the second capital campaign effort in Double H Ranch’s history. The Camp-A-Theater was thoughtfully designed by Saratoga Associates.
“Nothing brings me greater joy or a deeper sense of purpose than carrying forward the legacy of my father and honoring the incredible impact he had on Double H Ranch,” said Kate Walsh, Camp Director at Double H Ranch and daughter of the late Ray Walsh. “This camp wasn’t just a job to him, it was his calling, his life’s work. He poured his heart into creating a place where children with serious illnesses and their families could experience the magic of camp, free from the worries of their daily lives. To now see a space dedicated in his name – space that reflects his passion, his compassion, and his unwavering commitment – is both humbling and profoundly moving. I know he would be so proud, not for the recognition, but for the joy and healing this place continues to bring to so many.”
“Of all my dad’s accomplishments, Double H Ranch was by far the thing he was most proud of,” said Charlene Wood, Double H Board Member, Chair of the Charles R. Wood Foundation. “He loved seeing the progress when there was construction – he LOVED to build things. We are so very excited about the RayMax Camp-A-Theater. It is my hope that this theater will stand as a testament and symbol to the support and dedication of these two men to fulfilling the dream and vision of its two founders.”
