Do you remember where you were on March 8th, 2020? Here at Double H Ranch, we were celebrating the final Family Sleepover Weekend of the winter. It was a beautiful day on the slopes filled with sunshine and moments that capture why this season is so special at camp. As families packed up to leave, they would be taking new memories and triumphs with them. The campers had gained a new skill, many learning to ski or snowboard for the first time; and parents had witnessed their children accomplish something they may have never dreamt possible.
Now, after almost two years, we are beyond thrilled to share that the joy of skiing and snowboarding is back at camp this winter. Double H is proud to announce the return of our onsite Adaptive Winter Sports Program (AWSP)! Opening Day was successfully held this past Saturday, January 15th. Our season will run through March 5th, 2022. As the pandemic continues to impact every part of our world, our staff and volunteer team remains committed to providing a safe, high-quality, and empowering experience for the campers we are privileged to serve.
We know that change will be inevitable to ensure a safe season. While some aspects of the program may look and feel a little different, for example mask wearing, vaccination requirements, and reduced capacity, the key elements will remain the same. Every child will have the opportunity to find success on the hill, to create friendships that last a lifetime, and to know Double H is a place where they belong and are celebrated.
In our preparation for this unique season on the slopes, we were reminded again of the power of the Double H community. Our winter volunteers did not just sign up, but they have proven their dedication by showing up time and time again. Through their efforts in training, recruitment, and kindness, they have shown incredible commitment to making this winter a success at camp. A special thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who answered the call.
At Double H Ranch, we think snow from November through March. This 2022 season will be a special chance to celebrate accomplishments on and off the hill for our campers and their families. Thank you to everyone for supporting the work we do to make the thrill of winter possible even on the coldest of days.

Thank you so much for having the winter session this past weekend. It was exactly what my child needed. He has been out of school because of the surge and to be back at his happy place for the first time in 2 years meant a lot to him! Thank you for all that you do!!!
