On Wednesday evening April 2nd, 12-year-old Ballston Spa resident Kristen Shinebarger participated in the SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The Gala, honoring Tim Rose Executive VP of Costco, raised funds for Paul Newman’s global family of camps and programs which are independently managed and serve children with life-threatening illnesses. Kristen represented her camp – Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne. She shared the stage with the likes of Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro and Tony Bennett.
Kristen and other SeriousFun campers joined Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles to perform her hit song “Brave” in front of an appreciative audience of 500. Kristen a cancer survivor shared her story with the crowd and announced because of Double H Ranch,” The only thing she is afraid of is spiders!”
