Starting this year, the Camper Advisory Committee will provide the perspectives of youth who have attended Double H as a camper. This will mean centering youth voices to help shape and develop all aspects of Double H programming.
The Camper Advisory Committee is planned to have two groups: young adults 18-28 who have experienced Double H as a camper to serve as mentors AND current Double H campers. The committee will consist of 8-12 mentors and 10-14 current campers. We are not currently recruiting for the committee.
Become A Camper Advisory Committee Mentor Member
You are eligible if:
- You are between the ages of 18 and 28
- You attended Double H as a camper
- You want to advocate for yourself and others
- Since graduating camp, you have entered the workforce and/or attended higher education
Mentor Member Commitments
- Attend virtual committee meetings
- Serve as mentors to current campers
- Represent the voices of campers
- Seek out, listen to, and respect others’ opinions and experiences
- Advocate for yourself and others
Mentor Member Benefits
- Collaborate with staff and decision makers at Double H
- Build relationships and increase your leadership and communication skills
- Discuss issues that are important to help improve outcomes for all Double H participants
