Our campers get to participate in the typical summer camp activities including:
- Arts and Crafts
- Swimming in our heated indoor or outdoor pool
- Fishing and boating
- Horseback riding and small animal care
- Hands on science activities
- Nature based activities and camping
- Sports and recreation
- High Ropes Course
All activities are adapted to fit the needs of each child that attends Double H. Our program staff and counselors work to ensure all activities and events are inclusive for all children.
Each session Double H campers enjoy an offsite visit to our local amusement park Six Flags (Great Escape) and our older campers are able to experience the thrill of whitewater rafting.
Every evening at Double H there is a different camp wide event such as campfire, camp wide game, camp dance, and Talent Show. After the fun and excitement of the day, campers reflect on their experiences during Cabin Chat. Here they share their thoughts and feelings with their friends and counselors.
To conclude a week at camp, we end our program with the Wishboat Ceremony, which is held at the waterfront peninsula. Campers create a wishboat made of items from nature including tree bark, leaves, and flowers. At the Wishboat Ceremony campers write their wish on a piece of birch bark and place it on the boat. The boats are then lit with candles and sent out on the waters of Lake Vanare as the camp sings three Double H camp songs. Campers and staff take this time to reflect on the week spent at camp. It is truly a memorable moment for campers.
