Our campers get to participate in the typical summer camp activities including:
- Arts and Crafts
- Discovery: Hands on Science Activities
- Fishing and Boating
- High Ropes Course
- Horseback Riding
- Outdoor Extreme: Nature Based Activities & Camping
- Team Adventure: Sports & Team Building Activities
All activities are adapted to fit the needs of each child that attends Double H. Our program staff and counselors work to ensure all activities and events are inclusive for all children.
Every evening at Double H there is a different camp wide event such as the Opening Campfire, Camp Wide Game, a Camp Dance, and Talent Show. This summer these typically large camp wide events will be divided into small-group outdoor activities among cabin pods. After the fun and excitement of the day, campers and counselors will have Cabin Chat together. The questions can be silly, serious, or completely random, but everyone is given the chance to answer if they wish. It’s a great way to end the day and learn more about one another.
To conclude the week at camp, we end our program with the Wishboat Ceremony on the waterfront peninsula. Each cabin will create a wishboat made of items from nature including tree bark, leaves, and flowers. At the Wishboat Ceremony, campers write their wish on a piece of birch bark and place it on the boat before it is lit on fire and sent out on the lake. Campers and staff take this time to reflect on their session together.
