Max Yurenda, CEO
Mr. Yurenda has been CEO at the Double H Ranch since its inception in January 1993. In this capacity, Mr. Yurenda is responsible for daily operations, ensuring financial stability, managing and directing staff, implementing strategic initiatives and is responsible for Board development and regulatory compliance with local, county and state authorities. During his tenure, Mr. Yurenda has been responsible for improving the infrastructure at the camp, improving the retention of staff, volunteers, and medical personnel, strengthening community involvement at the ranch, leading the effort to create a more comprehensive and diversified fundraising program, establishing strong partnerships with local hospitals and volunteer health organizations, and setting the stage for the Ranch to build its capacity and strengthen its position for the long term. Mr. Yurenda has also played a key role in providing technical assistance for the global family of Paul Newman camps. Prior to joining the Double “H” Ranch, he served as a Treatment Team Leader at the Wilton Developmental Center/Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities Services Office from 1981. He previously was employed at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center in Buffalo and at the Virginia Recreational Services Section in Richmond, Virginia. Mr. Yurenda received his Bachelors of Science in Education degree from the State University of New York College at Cortland.
Lisa Boucher, Human Resources Director
Ms. Boucher has over 20 years in the field of human resources and joined the Double H Ranch as the Director of Human Resources in 2014. She has extensive experience in strategic human resource planning, performance management, staffing, federal and state law compliance, employee benefits, compensation and payroll, training and development, and coaching.
She received her M.B.A. from the College of St. Rose, and B.S. in accounting from Siena College. Ms. Boucher is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) with a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation.
Prior to joining the Double H Ranch, Ms. Boucher worked for CMJ LLP, assisting clients with human resources, benefits, payroll, and compliance. Prior to that she was the Human Resource Manager for Barton Mines Inc. with responsibilities in performance management, recruiting, compliance, employee benefits management, and compensation.
Kurt Bramer, Facilities Director
Mr. Bramer began his Double H Ranch career in 2014 as a snow maker/lift attendant for the Adaptive Winter Sports Program. Soon after his first season, Mr. Bramer joined the year-round team as a Facilities Associate. After five years of learning of about camp and managing all of the systems and grounds, he was promoted to Facilities Director in Fall, 2021. Prior to working at Double H, he was the Project Manager at A.I.M., overseeing and coordinating three crews of divers working in Lake George removing invasive species. Mr. Bramer received a B.S from Paul Smith’s College and has a Class “C” water operator’s license.
Eileen Nash, Director of Development and Communications
Ms. Nash has more than three decades of experience in non-profit fundraising, management, and strategic planning. Ms. Nash joined the Double H Ranch in 1998 as Endowment Campaign Director. She currently serves as Director of Development and Communications and is responsible for all aspects of the Ranch’s comprehensive Development program, marketing, and communication efforts. She leads a team that raises over $4.6 million annually and successfully raised $16 million for the camp’s endowment fund and $3.5 million for the Joy of Childhood 25th Anniversary Capital Campaign. Prior to joining the Double H Ranch, Ms. Nash worked for WMHT Public Media, New York State’s Capital Region, non-profit, multichannel, public communications organization. She received her B.S. in Communication from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
Jacqui Royael, Director of Operations
Ms. Royael has been a part of the Double H Ranch for over 20 years, starting as a camp counselor while studying Special Education at Nazareth College. Prior to joining the year-round team, she was a middle school special education teacher in the Watervliet City School District. Ms. Royael was originally hired as the Camp Director and has spent the last 10 years as the Director of Operations.
She leads the Operations team, including year-round programs, medical services, risk management and policy development. She enjoys her time as a facilitator, with experience creating and implementing training for DEI, Crisis Management, Communication, and Leadership Development.
Joyce Sokol, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Sokol has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field. She joined the Double H Ranch accounting office in 2001 and became the Chief Financial Officer in 2018. Along with the CEO, she works closely with all of the departments to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization. Prior to joining the Double H Ranch, Ms. Sokol worked for Urbach, Kahn & Werlin, PC in Glens Falls and Edwards, Williams, McManus & Ricciardelli, PC in Queensbury. She worked on personal and corporate tax returns, payroll, and auditing of school districts, and governmental and not for profit entities. She received her B.S. in accounting from Bryant College in Smithfield, RI.
